Pregnancy Preview: Week 26

week 26 preview
YOUR BABY'S WORLD. "Grasping something--like my umbilical cord--is my newest trick." For more on grasping, one of more than 70 reflexes your baby will have developed by birth, click here.

HEARTBURN often strikes when you're pregnant. To quench the fire, drink lots of fluids, eat small meals, and don't lie down right after you eat.

YOUR GUMS MAY BLEED when you brush your teeth, but don't worry--this is common and normal during pregnancy. Try using a softer bristle, and brush gently.

MOISTURISING LOTION can soothe the stretched, itchy skin on your belly or breasts.

DO YOU DREAM ABOUT YOUR BABY? "Most parents dream of two babies," says Dr. T. Berry Brazelton. "One baby is perfect, with eyes that look into yours, with a mouth that smiles and gurgles. But then there's the other baby--an impaired one. By visualising the two opposite babies, you're getting ready to nurture whichever one you get."
