Dear Teething Runny
If you’re lucky enough to feel like having sex, then unless your midwife or doctor has advised you to abstain, feel free to go ahead! Your baby is well-protected by your amniotic fluid, safe in your uterus, so just enjoy a romantic evening being close to your partner.

Will having sex harm my baby?
Lots of mums and dads-to-be feel strange having sex during pregnancy, particularly once they’ve seen their baby for the first time during a scan. It’s only natural to wonder whether your sexual relationship will impact upon your baby’s health. But don’t worry – sex during pregnancy won’t do your baby any harm. Some people go off sex altogether and others seem to want it all the time!

If you’re finding it difficult to feel sexy with the bump between you, why not light some candles and get your partner to give you a massage with pregnancy-friendly oils? This can help you relax as well as feel close to your partner.

Health and nutrition tip
These days, most restaurants are used to catering for all kinds of special diets, so don’t be afraid to ask about certain dishes, if you’re worried they might be a no-no. Remember to order your meat well-cooked and avoid dishes that may contain uncooked eggs. And if your dish doesn’t arrive piping hot like it’s supposed to be, send it back!

According to medical experts, your baby is now ‘viable’, meaning that if they were to be born, they’d have a fair chance of survival in a special care baby unit.
