Dear Teething Runny
At this stage, your baby is considered full term, so make sure you and your partner are ready! It’s a good idea to get your house prepared for the first few days after your baby’s been born. Not only will you probably be too tired to think about cleaning or shopping but you’ll also want to focus on caring for and bonding with your baby.

Is there anything I can do at home to prepare?

If you have loads of energy, probably one of the easiest things you can do (which you will love yourself for later) is to make lots of easy-to-prepare dinners and freeze them all. Meals like casseroles that you can just defrost and put in the oven when you have a baby to look after, are great. You could also start to prepare your house for your baby’s arrival. Do some cleaning – you probably won’t want to do that later! And make sure you’ve got enough nappies, newborn clothes and a cot or Moses basket organised. Take it easy on yourself though and put your feet up when you’re done.

Remember, make sure your hospital bag is packed, and it might be wise to carry your hospital notes around with you… just in case.

You’ll probably be feeling hot in this stage of late pregnancy, because your body is now working extremely hard to carry all that extra weight around and sustain the life inside you. If you need to cool off, try holding your wrists in the sink under cold running water, or keeping a gel mask in the fridge to put over your eyes.  Remember to drink lots of water too as sweating will dehydrate you quickly.

Because they now have less and less room to move around, your baby’s movements may feel more like squirming than kicking.
