 | | | | | | Tantrums are all part of growing up
Learning to stand on their own two feet is all part of becoming independent. And with it comes the ability to say “no!” This can make life challenging, but the occasional tantrum is only to be expected, as your toddler tests the boundaries of what they can and can’t do. You’ll need to be extra patient with them as they learn to do things for themselves. Give them lots of reassurance and get them used to the idea of you not always being there, to avoid separation anxiety when they start nursery. Playing with siblings and spending time with dad are also good ways to boost their confidence and encourage their independence. | | | Find out more about your toddler's growing independence | | | | Use our Playtime Planner to find fun activities like Peekaboo, which can help your toddler to understand that objects still exist, even when they can’t see them – like you, when you’re not right in front of them!
