| | | | | | | | | How can I make my home safe for my baby? | | As your baby becomes increasingly active, they’re going to need lots of space to explore and move around in. But it’s all too easy for little fingers to get trapped and delicate heads to get bumped. Thankfully, your baby has some great natural padding in the form of a lovely, soft bottom! But there are lots of things you can do to make your home safer, too. To help you work out what areas of the home need baby-proofing, try crawling around on your hands and knees! There are lots of practical gadgets you can buy to help keep your baby safe, like plug covers, cupboard catches and stair gates. But getting a baby’s eye view of the world will help you spot potential hazards such as low pointed corners, easy-to-open cupboards, easy-to-reach ornaments, uneven floor surfaces and uncovered electrical sockets. The odd bump and scrape is inevitable, but short of wrapping your baby in cotton wool there’s not much more you can do. Try to relax and give your baby enough freedom to explore and have fun under your watchful eye. Learning to fall down, but get straight back up again is a valuable life lesson! | | Articles you may find useful | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | You & your baby this month | | Your baby’s becoming much more involved when you read to them now; trying to turn pages, listening closely to your voice and following the colourful pictures. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This information is being sent to you in response to your individual request for information by email from Cow & Gate.
