Listed are topics such as lying, room cleaning, chores and so much more.  Each Pep Talk is 3-5 minutes long.  When your order the collection, you will receive a FREE Dial-A-Discipline with an additional 2 hours of recorded advice and instructions.  This list contains all of the titles including these 6 FREE SAMPLES:

Saying No - Kids need to hear no and you don't need to explain yourself!  It also helps if you take the time to consider whether you may actually want to say yes to their request.

Respond like a broken record - So often kids learn how long it takes until they can change our minds, wear us out, or break us down.  Learning how to respond like a broken record will teach them you mean what you say and are consistent.

Your child's birth order affects their personality development.  Knowing the typical development patterns can help you enhance the positive aspects of your child's birth order and minimize the challenging aspects.

Teach your Child to Earn -   This PEP Talk has some thoughts for teaching your child the value of earning. If you want your child to have a "prosperity consciousness" rather than a "lack consciousness", these ideas can assist.

Temperament Introduction - The first of 9 PEP Talks about your child's inborn temperament.  Both you and your child fall somewhere on a continuum in each of the temperament traits.  The Pep talks will explain each trait and how your child may behave. You will then be given examples of what happens when you both are the same end of the continuum and when you are on opposite sides of the continuum.  Where is your child's temperament on this continuum? Where is yours?

Rewards Part 1 of 2 - The effects of using a reward system for parenting may surprise you. What parents don't realize is that rewards do very little to create responsible caring children.

Take The Hassles Out Of Homework March 22, 23 & on MP3

Have you attended or listened to a workshop on MP3 yet?  You can attend the LIVE seminars in Westlake or Ojai (see workshops below) or order on MP3. I am getting very positive feedback from parents about my workshops on MP3, here's a sample:

"Oh Deborah,

I have REALLY enjoyed your seminars so far. Last night I averted a power struggle at meal time with my four year old daughter. I heard your voice in my head saying, "Don't say a word." And I didn't. "Give her the chance to make the right choice." So I sat, quietly, while she ranted and raved. Lo and behold, she slowly approached the table and after a little while, sat down and ate dinner!!!!

Thank you so much for giving me the tools to bring peace to my home!

I hope you record many more seminars."

Lindsay Stephens - West Virginia

Each workshop is $15, and you can save $25 and purchase all five for $50!  I will only be offering this special price until the end of the month when all the workshops are recorded.

Ready, steady, chew!

#
Your baby - 7 months old
Incorrect age? Update
your baby's birth date
Dear Teething Runny
Now that your baby has got the hang of eating their puréed food from a spoon, they may be ready to take their next step in weaning: learning to chew. This may coincide with their first little teeth coming through, which will make them want to chew anything they can get their hands on! If you want to find out more about soothing aching gums or you have a question about weaning, you can always call us.

Is my baby ready to chew?
If your baby is accepting gentle tastes and smooth textures quite easily, now’s the time to start moving on to the next stage: introducing more adventurous tastes and mashed textures.

Introducing mashed textures will encourage your baby to learn to chew. And you can also help by making exaggerated chewing movements while you feed them, to show them how to move their jaws up and down.

So start their day with a baby breakfast cereal, then try including lots of different vegetables in their main meal. Why not try some of our 7 month+ jar meals - they're just the right texture and have more vegetables than any other baby jar! For afters, try some fresh fruit or a fruity dessert. At this stage, babies are usually open to trying new flavours too, so it’s a great time to introduce foods such as aubergine, mushrooms and pineapple. Trying a wider variety of ingredients will help your baby develop a liking for different tastes and encourage healthy eating habits in later years. It will also help them get the balance of nutrients they need for all that growing!

Remember, milk is still an important part of your baby’s diet and they’ll need around 500 – 600ml (about a pint) a day, including the milk you use to make their food.

Which cereals aren't worth their salt?
Babies are still developing on the inside, which is why they should have no more than 1g of salt per day.  Surprisingly, most family cereals contain added salt, even though they may taste sweet.  To find out whether your family cereal contains salt, put it to the test with our cereal salt checker.  If there's any salt added, it's best to leave it off the menu.
